21shares, the digital asset manager with the largest suite of cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) in the world, is joining the Stacks Genesis Bond, the inaugural institutional cohort for Bitcoin Staking on Stacks.
The Genesis Bond will demonstrate Bitcoin Staking end-to-end with institutional participants and infrastructure providers ahead of broader availability. The participation of 21shares marks an important step in connecting Bitcoin-native financial infrastructure with the traditional investment ecosystem.

21shares oversees more than $6.5 billion in assets under management across more than 60 crypto ETPs globally. Through the Genesis Bond, the firm will participate directly in Bitcoin Staking on Stacks using its own Bitcoin treasury holdings.
The participation allows 21shares to engage with a Bitcoin-native yield mechanism as institutional interest in productive Bitcoin continues to grow.

Bitcoin Staking lets BTC holders earn rewards paid in BTC while their Bitcoin remains on the Bitcoin blockchain.
The BTC participating in a bond is locked on Bitcoin for a fixed term, with an early exit option for flexibility, and remains under the holder’s control. At the end of the term, the BTC is returned in full. Holders do not need to move their Bitcoin to another network or hand it to a third party to earn rewards.
The Genesis Bond will bring this mechanism into an institutional setting, demonstrating the process with participating institutions and infrastructure providers. Institutions and professional investors interested in the Genesis Bond can learn more at [insert landing page URL].
The Stacks Genesis Bond launches September 10, with the first Bitcoin Staking bonding period expected to begin in October.

We look forward to sharing more from 21shares and the rest of the Genesis cohort as Bitcoin Staking enters its next phase. As always, thank you to the Stacks community for continuing to build the future of Bitcoin alongside us.
